50ти-летний Новгородский яхтсмен Алексей Федорук…
Новгородский яхтсмен Алексей Федорук, совершающий круговое путешествие из Великого Новгорода в Ньюпорт (штат Род-Айленд, США) и обратно, второй раз за сезон успешно пересек Атлантику, сообщил в пятницу РИА Новости источник в Новгородском яхт-клубе, в котором состоит Федорук.
Федорук стартовал в Великом Новгороде 27 апреля. По внутренним водам он дошел до Санкт-Петербурга, пересек Балтику, Северное море, Атлантику и 17 июля достиг промежуточного финиша в Ньюпорте. Через неделю Федорук вышел в обратный путь.
“После суточной остановки в британском Плимуте Федорук прошел Ла-Манш и в настоящий момент близ Дувра в штормовых условиях выходит в Северное море… Безусловно, он очень устал, но пока благополучно справляется со всеми трудностями”, – сказал собеседник.
В 2010 году он пытается впервые проделать плавание в США и обратно за один сезон. В случае успеха новгородец станет первым из яхтсменов российского северо-запада, кто за сезон совершит путешествие через Атлантику и обратно протяженностью около 9 тысяч морских миль (более 15 тысяч километров).
Новгородский яхтсмен более 30 лет занимается парусным спортом. На его счету несколько длительных плаваний на собственной яхте “Фасон”. В 2008 году новгородец в одиночку совершил путешествие из Великого Новгорода в Ньюпорт и в 2009 году вернулся обратно.
